Finally I hit some serious dough.

I didn't get super cards but I was lucky and made two killer bluffs at the final table which moved me from 3rd to 2nd. The last dude dodged my JJ against his KQ and my AT against his 66. That was PRETTY annoying and robbed me from 1K$ :(

In the end I made a stupid bluff which he called and I went out. I'd been playing for 8 hours and lost my focus.

The hand that got me started was this one (pre-final table).

It took 4+ hours and I earned 11 bucks. I'm going to be the big spender tomorrow at new years eve - YEAH!

Well. Pretty good position. But I messed up in the end with a stupid allin with top pair and crap-kicker.

1st: I'm slowplaying a set in 5s. On the turn a guy with flush+inside draw is allin. Call. He hit's flush and wins his 25% chance. Just before the money positions. Bye bye.

2nd: I'm raising from early with QQ some FF is allin as BB. Call. He has JJ... J. 20% chance to him.

3rd: Been playing a 5$ rebuy for about 4 hours. I raise On the button with QQ. Some FF calls as BB with KT.
Flop: 9JQ. He check. I bet a little. He raises I re-raise. He's allin. A-crap. 26% chance. I had 30K pre-flop and he had +20K.

Senseless, really. What a fucking waste of time.

Hilarious setup AA beats my KK in the last tourney.

I'm blessed with the Kings relatively close to the money positions in the sunday storm (300K GTD). 7 bets +2xBB 18K L (BB=1200) I raise to 7K 18K L. BB who was allin earlier with AQs goes allin again 37K. I take a chance and he sits with the Anal Assault.

I'll quote Hudson from aliens "maybe you haven't kept up with the current events but we just got our asses kicked". Mine is very hurtful at least.

I'm not sure what goes out the window if I get another 80% bad beat. But something has to go. What a waste of time.

200K ended with bad beat.

Happy I qualified for the 200K on party poker earlier this week. I'm playing patiently and disciplined. Then I look at this sweetie:

He bets 225/450. I raise to 675/675. Einstein is allin. Call. Runner runner full house. 83% chance of winning. Playin a couple of other tourneys let's hope I'm not getting rammed there ass well.

I won a ticket to the 200K GTD on Sunday. Maybe this is the time for the first price? :)

Moving on

I've decided it's time to go to a new chapter in my life. Therefore the test of becoming a poker pro is over for this time. I can conclude that it might be possible but the amount of errors you make must be on a very very low level if existing at all. This and then some arbitrary bluffs need to be employed for success I'm sure.

I'll still play from time to time as a hobby and try improving my game, but now I need to get my future converged into something more stable. Therefore I'll pursue my other great passion: Programming. That is I'll try to look for a job as a Software developer.

As a side project (and full time until getting a job) I'll keep working on my Tourney Coach software for poker coaching tournament players. I'm not sure when the first version will be ready, but I guess around one man month a homepage with a first version app could be published.

Started on some poker software (in C# language) :)

I've gotten an idea for some way to make a poker coaching software. The idea behind the program is to let the user focus on the up and downs during a tournament so he can learn from his mistakes and good moves. Looking forward to do some creative work with the code again. Just wish there where more than 24 hours in the day :| ... :)

Shaking my head whilst watching it. I didn't even tilt. But f*ck, how can donkeys be awarded so much by so bad play?

5/548 in the 5$ rebuy 5K GTD

I hate 50-50ies!... But nevertheless a couple of those shot me to the top of the tourney late in the game. Suddentæy I found myself at the final table (the place we like to be). Here I din't get much. ahhh, that's not true, but QQ didn't pay of and at one point I called a "not too shy" raise with AK suited in late position. A dude with many chips had raised UTG which had doubled the blinds for starters. But with my call he (UTG) went allin and I set him on AA KK or QQ and I didn't want to go lotto at this point. Too much experience tell me that he could easy have had killers. But well they were eager to kick each other out which in the end pushed me to the 5th position. Here I din't get much and in the end I limped, I think, with 66 and were set allin. I'm not sure if it had done any difference... Maaaybe if I had been the aggressor, but nevertheless he went allin with AQ and the flop.... AAQ. The miracle, hehe, didn't appear and I was out. Some well deserved bucks to my roll though!

Recipe for tilt

Yesterday some Einstein raised my late +2xBB with 7h8h from the blinds. I re-raise him as I have the Aces and he calls. He checks on a 764 flop and I bet the pot. Then Einstein sets me allin with his toppair + inside draw. Call loose bye bye 33% chance.

In another Tourney blinds are getting high and a dude with a nice stack +2 bets from a late position. I sit behind him with JJ and sets him allin BB=500, with 8K. He sits with 30K stack and his A5 is a killa. Yes he gets A. Byebye.

Then I'm in SnG mode. BB=200 allin from early 1600 left, with 88 on my hand. Chip lead calls with 77. What comes???? SEVENNNNNN.

Yeeeez. Today Ive homed in on a fish which goes allin. I call with AK and looks at KT. T T comes... OOOOOOKKKKK! It's OK to be a little unlucky.

My best result on pokerstars until now :)

A short recap:

I was lucky to win a AK - pair allin at one point. Otherwise I kept away from 50/50s and played through the fire. This one made some poo touch the wool:

I'd raised preflop and this dude who was a little too active had called. On the flop a daunting King showed his face and the dude wasn't affraid to test me with a serious bet. I though, Fuke it I don't think he hit so I called and in the end when I put a little heat on him after a double check on the turn he laid down. (I had to minimize the window during the river bet as I didn't have the nerve to wait it out :| ).

On the final table I made a bold move with Jd4d:

This wasn't received well by an observer and another player:

.. But I could only laugh a little impressed that I took the chance and conclude I had made a right decision on  the profile of this mate. At the same time my stack was improving ;)

99/3594 in the Big 22 tourney

Quite decent result! Not mentional the price. But the position is interesting. I did a mistake in the end when calling an UTG limper with TT.

Flop 678.
He checks, I bet 5999/16K and he's allin 66K.
I called and he shows 87. Byebye unfortunately. Bad choice.

I also hit the money positions in the 11 rebuy. I went out of one of the 5 Rebuy tourneys With two pairs AK. against TJ flush draw. And in the other I was allin with KK and was called by a luckbox with AJ who hit his A.

2/581 in the 5 rebuy 5K GTD :)

A good result rolls in after I re-discovered poker. The real poker started when we were about 20 left. Before that I'm on my way out as I'm allin against a chips lead and realize I only have 2 outs to hit a full house as he had hit a flush. For once I'm lucky ... VERY lucky and get my full house. Right on! Then I start to rock the shit out :D

But yes, 20 left:

One Russian dude, aggressive that is... I know they're seldom aggressive (sarcastic), he raises as many times before. That is my queue, so I shove allin:

The next good one is me being armed with The Russians favorite weapon AK. One dude had bet 2 times BB from UTG. Can be a sign of danger. But Vladimir decides to raise and I call on the button:

On the final table there's one guy especially that's horny for the flop. He keeps raising. Most are affraid of him but when I'm at Big blind I call and play him as it gives me 1/3 chance. And he doesn't hit every time. Some of the times a Bluff him, folds and then I hit trip jacks and he goes allin on his straight draw on the turn. Bad idea... for him ;)... That sends me to the 2nd seat. Then Another Russian guy sets me allin with A7 suited when I raised him with AK this goes home and we just need the 2 others to mess up which they does :)

Heads up I'm loosing focus. the tournament has been running for 8 hours we're even at one point with 2 million in chips each, but then I screw up. In the end I'm allin with 500K against his 3½ million my A3 against his K3. He hits K and it's done. fair enough.

But again it seems like my theory mentioned in a post or two ago looks very promising. I'm taking notice of my dough today and see the progression through out the month. Tomorrow is family time and birthday. And then we should be back on track on Monday :)

Definitely on to something!

I think it was good I turned down the job offer yesterday...

I had an eye openening .... Not to be disclosed ;) .. poker experience which has shown the way forward and a way of playing I applied as once I realized what Ive been doing wrong for some time. I know Ive said it before, but Im QUITE positive that Im on the right path now:

Yesterday I went in the money in 3/4 tournaments.

Today I went in the money in 3/5 and lost a KK - JJ allin in one of the lost tourneys. The best results where these today:

12/716 in the 5.5 rebuy 5K gtd

19/747 in the 11 rebuy 17.5K gtd

I believe that November will be a QUITE interesting month! And for sure time is running out now so a decision wether or not to go this way has to be made quite soon.

Btw: it started out quite bad as I accidently registered to a 109$ turbo freezeout - I was too fast registering as I was a little late ;( lost that quite fast - stupid. But now Ive applied some filters on the tourneys so that won't happen again.

Yet another brain dead Russian ruins the day.

So I'm playing this 11 rebuy tourney and I've profiled this Russian Einstein to be loose aggressive and he's horny for flops. I'm tired of laying down relatively good hands so this time I make a stand, the result below:

I'm aggressor both times so, this is just the top of idiocy. But I forgot that at pokerstars you need 99.99% chance just to have a small chance of winning a hand. Let me put it this way: I'm certain I can recognize him on the notes I made for him the next time. BTW I had 56% chance on the flop.

Relatively close to a WPT seat... But I blew it with a fish move :(

I wanted to go for a WPT seat in the WPT qualifier 55$ buyin. 86 participated. A set of 6ses, lucky trips of 6ses and some aggresive play and a ninja trick sent me to the final table. Here I tried a ninja trick that backfired. Slowplaying the kings sent me right into a set of 6ses on a 678 flop which I couldn't get my dirty fingers out from. I thought he might had hit a pair and a outside draw, so I went for it but got my arse kicked. Then I stole a couple of blinds and went allin with 44 the worst player on the table called with AJ and hit his A. That sent me out as 9th. 1st place was a WPT seat and 2nd a  seat at party pokers autumn million. Then some minor bucks to seat 3-6. Aaaargh "stupid stupid stupid" as rawshack puts it in watchmen.

Finally some back wind

Went in the money in two of them and bubble boy in the third :(

But 7/710 and hence the final table is definitely acceptable even though only in a 5.5 rebuy tourney. All it took was some focus, ninja tricks and a small amount of luck. I'm pretty sure that Ive lost focus and the overview of the prober value of hands before today. But today it felt like I was in the zone. Even with to little sleep so that is comforting. I'll try to gain the poker gods favor yet again tomorrow.
